Life Hazard

The Township Fire Marshal’s office, upon notification that a Customer has moved into a new space, will visit and conduct an inspection.  Based on the size of the space and the use, The State of NJ, Department of Community Affairs, Bureau of Fire Code Enforcement, Life Hazard Use registration will be triggered.  Customers will receive an invoice directly from the State and are responsible to remit payment directly to the State annually.  While administered by the Township, this is separate from any other fees required by your Township.  The Life Hazard Use registration fee includes contact information in the event you wish to contact them with questions as to how your individual fee was calculated.  At the end of your lease term, our office will contact the Fire Official to make sure that there are no outstanding amounts owed to them or to the State
